Re: Code signing PB Executables

Are GlobalSign certificates compatible with the sign tool included in PowerGen V7.0?

Re: Code signing PB Executables

We have a test version of PowerGen that will let you sign
your PB exectuables with digital cerificates.  It works with
all versions of PB currently supported by PowerGen: V5
through V10.5.  Note that because of the non-standard format
of PowerBuilder executables, you cannot use standard signing
tools like SignTool.

Let me know if you'd like a copy to try.

Phil

Re: Code signing PB Executables

I would definitely like a copy to try with Phil.
This is something that I am starting on in the very near future as I am preparing an installer for Vista validation.

I take it that, to your knowledge, Macrovision/InstallShield's iSign command line app won't work on PB applications?

Re: Code signing PB Executables

I don't believe any code signing tool not specificallly designed for PowerBuilder applications will work.

PowerBuilder EXEs do not conform exactly to the Windows PE (Portable Executable) standard, so a lot of utilities supporting that standard (like version editing tools) will not work with PowerBuilder.

Phil

Re: Code signing PB Executables

Has this version been released as an official release yet? I also need this, and I would certainly consider buying PowerGen (if I had to) to get this feature. Really all I need is the ability to code sign, though.

Thanks.
