Re: GUI versus CLI

We use PowerGen v8.0 for PowerBuiler 12 and PowerBuilder 9 builds and PBG syncro.

The command line interface execution of the sync via PBG seems to be slower than the same sync via the GUI. Does this sound correct? We have automated our build and sync process and wanted to try and increase performance.

Running Start /Wait Pwrgn12.exe /Q /J=$genfile /PBG via command line and the execution time is about 11 minutes.

In the PowerGen GUI, running Application => Synchronize => From PBGs and the execution time is about 4 minutes.

Are these not the same operations?

Re: GUI versus CLI

There should be no difference in execution times, all being equal. The code in both cases is the same.

Is the command line execution running from the same account as the GUI? Could there be different priority settings?
