Hi,
Using the commandline with commandline parametes to generate an OLF file, powergen crashes (Pgerreor = 116).
Pwrgn105.exe /F=D:\<somesubdirectory>\configurator.gen /O=D:\<somesubdirectory>\configurator.OLF /A=configurator /P
Using the exact same .gen file from the user interface generates an OLF file without problems.
The same command for another .gen file (and directory) gives no problem either.
Any ideas if (and how) to generate a log file while running this command so we can figure out why it is crashing.
Do we have to care about case sensitivity ?
Using PowerGen 5.7 professional.
Regards,
Wim
Hi Wim,
What indication (besides the pgerror.log file) do you have that PowerGen is crashing? Can you verify that the OLF was not created?
When PowerGen starts a command line operation it writes the pgerror.log file with the 116 code. If the operation is successful the file is removed. If not successful it is re-written with a different code. If the pgerror.log file is not specified with a complete path PowerGen may not know where to look to remove it so it may be a false negative.
Let me know what you find.

Phil
Hi Phil,
It's the only indication we have so far. No .OLF file is created.
When looking to the console we can see Powergen starting and then closing again.
If we do a similar command (only other directory and .gen file) we see Powergen staring, the .gen file appears briefly and powergen closes nicely, an OLF file is created in that case.
Is there a possibility to log what Powergen is doing?
Could it be a path problem (the path used in the crash is slightly longer then the working one, only the last directory name differs though).
Regards,
Wim
Hi Wim,
Does the path have any spaces? If so it needs to be enclosed in quotes.
Have you made the path to the pgerror.log file and absolute path? You can do this in PowerGen by selecting Options->Log File. I'm guessing that there is another pgerror.log file (other then the one with the 116) that is being with an error code that will point you to the cause of the problem.

Phil
Hi Phil,
We are checking the correct file, when starting the command, we can see the pgerror.log file being created.
Then powergen closes.
No other log files are being created, not even in the designated directory.
Doing it manually withthe same .gen file, it works fien and a nice log file is gegenrated in the designated directory.
Remark however that when we changed part of the initial directory name (slightly shorter) the problem all of a sudden disappeared and the OLF file got generated nicely???

Hi,
Additional info: when leaving out the /A parameter, the crash went away.
The application originally mentioned in the /A parameter did exist in the PBL's.

Wim
I'll take a look at this and post an answer back here (as well as to your email).
