Re: PowerGen Hangs on PBL Copy

Occasionally during out automated build process the Pwrgn7.exe process will hang up (not allowing the nightly builds to complete) during a PBL copy process.  Obviously this causes some serious heartache at times.

We take a set of PBL files from ClearCase and consolidate them into one.

Example:
start /wait s:\powergen\pwrgn7  /q /c=s:\buildsource\e_netsysmain.pbl s:\build\engntwrk.pbl

start /wait s:\powergen\pwrgn7  /q /c=s:\buildsource\e_ngnglr.pbl s:\build\engntwrk.pbl

This e_ngnglr.pbl file is a #1 offender in this particular code stream.  At this point you can check the running processes on the build machine and see that the Pwrgn7.exe process is just sitting there using 0% of the processor.  If you kill the process the build will continue but is hosed due to objects not being present since the PBL copy failed.

We are using PB DLL's version: 7.0.3.10213
We are using PowerGen version: 5.5.1.0

Re: PowerGen Hangs on PBL Copy

Tim,

Can you send the problem PBL to me (philw@ecrane.com)?  There are no open problem reports with the copy function, so if you provide me with your PBL it will let us get to a solution quickly.

Regards,

Phil

Re: PowerGen Hangs on PBL Copy

I have found that the problem is a lack of disk space on the drive containing the target PBL.
