We use Powergen 5.5 with PB9.0.1 Build 6533 for our daily/nightly bootstrap import process. Recently, we have started having random gpfs during the bootstrap process. Sometimes the process will work for days. Other times it will gpf several days in a row. The only clue we have is the DrWatson log but that hasn't yielded a solution yet. Does anybody have any suggestions? This applicaton consists of a workspace with 14 target.
Scotty,
Are all of your resources for the import on a local drive? If not try moving them before you start the process and see if that improves things.
Is the import failing in a particular part of the process? For example is it always in Phase 3? Or regenerating dependents?, etc.?
If you can send an output log from a failed build, I might be able to spot something. There are no open problem reports with the Bootstrap Import function.
Regards,
Phil
All of the resources are on the local drive. We checked several occurences (GPFs) and they are spread out among the Bootstrap import's phases. Sometimes the process works with no problems (last night) and sometimes it fails. We are looking at everything we can think of to make this process stable again. Here's a snippet from a DrWatson log that may help. One thing that we do that may be unusual is that we map a logical drive (Z:) from a local directory (C:\neverdelete) as part of our build. It makes dealing with PowerBuilder project files easier to administer. We have done this for years with PowerGen and have not had any problems.

Scotty,
Could you send the PowerGen output log (powergen.log, by default) for one of the failed builds?
Also the Dr. Watson log excerpt that you sent was for PowerBuilder (PB90.exe), not PowerGen. Where does the PB GPF occur?

Phil
