We have been using the bootstrap import to build. A recent, benign change to one object shuts powergen down. Roll back the changes to that one object, and the bootstrap completes normally.
The changes to that object consist of adding an instance variable declaration, initializing that instance variable from an ini setting, and a function that simply returns the value of that instance variable.
These changes regen properly in the PowerBuilder development environment.
Are there any limitations on the number of instance variables or the number of functions? There are a lot on this object.
Where in the process does the failure occur, i.e. Phase 1, 2..., initializing, etc.?
Send an export of the modified object if you could.
Regards,
Phil
I attached the code. Let me know if there is another way you want this sent.
Hi Vince,
(Sorry for the delay; I was on vacation.)
I was able to Bootstrap Import this object with no problem.
Which version of PowerGen are you using? There have been a couple bug fixes recently, related to parsing object files during the Bootstrap Import process.
Regards,
Phil
I hope you had a good time on vacation. I am sure that it was too short.
PowerGen 5.5.0.44
PowerBuilder 7.0.3 Build 10077
I'll upload a PowerGen V6.0 pre-release (for PB7) tomorrow to our ftp site. This is worth trying because of a couple bug fixes in the area where have reported the problem.
I'll send you a notice when it's available.
Regards,
Phil
Hi Vince,
I've uploaded Pwrgn7.zip to our ftp site. The address is ftp.ecrane.com and the username and password are ecrane. Try this release and let me know what happens.

Phil
