Re: PowerGen Professional 5.5 SMP aware?

Can anyone tell me if PowerGen is SMP aware? We are trying to improve our build through-put and would like to know if a multi-processor machine will help.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Re: PowerGen Professional 5.5 SMP aware?

Hi,

Most of the processing time (> 95%) in a PowerGen build is spent in
PowerBuilder DLLs, which PowerGen calls through the ORCA interface.  So we
have little control over optimizing the processing for extra resources, such as SMP.

What I can say is that many users have improved the build performance, by
using a RamDisk.

Phil
