Hello, I've recently been tasked with creating an automated build process for a rather large Powerbuilder 5 application we support in-house. The application contains a configuration of both PBD's and DLL's. While I had no problem creating the PowerGen projects and automating the compile / build process I have noticed a file size difference in the resulting PBD's and DLL's. When compiled thru the native IDE the output is smaller than those generated via PowerGen. In the case where I generate DLLs, the PowerGen output is sometimes 30% larger than Powerbuilder output. I believe I've setup the compile options to be consistent between both environments.
PowerGen Professional v 5.5.0.44
PowerBuilder 5.0
Is this a know issue? Any suggestions?
This is not a known issue. I suspect something else different between the two build environments, besides PowerGen vs. PowerBuilder.
Check the resources that you are using in both cases, icons, bmps, etc. Try build one of the sample PB5 applications and comparing them. Then if you see a difference, we can try it here.
Regards,
Phil
