Re: Building PB 11 Application Error

I am getting the following error when compiling a PB 11 application through PowerGen 7.0.0.01

Error initializing SySAM licensing.

What does it mean and how can I resolve it?

regards

David Rowe

Re: Building PB 11 Application Error

This was addressed in e-mail.  After reconfiguring the project to build PBDs rather than DLLs, the build was successful without the SySam error.

Phil

Re: Building PB 11 Application Error

I am getting the  'Error initializing SySAM licensing.' when compiling a PB 11 application through PowerGen 7.0.0.01 too.
In my project I build only pbd's and exe.

What can I do? :(

Re: Building PB 11 Application Error

Hi Wojciech,

What exact version of PB11 are you using?  Include the build number.  I saw this error with early Beta versions of PB11, but not with the production version.

Phil

Re: Building PB 11 Application Error

I need the PowerBuilder version, not the PowerGen version.

Re: Building PB 11 Application Error

Phil,

Does the machine on which the builds are taking place have to have a full PB11 installation.  Previously our build box only had deployment kit type installation (ie. copied DLLs)?

Thanks,

Re: Building PB 11 Application Error

A machine using PowerGen must have a PowerBuilder installation.  PowerGen uses PB DLLs through the (ORCA) API supplied by Sybase.
